Here’s the difference between liberals and conservatives: after Obama’s dismal performance in the first debate, liberals were pissed at Obama for allowing Romney to control the debate. We were pissed at Jim Lehrer, the moderator, for having absolutely no control whatsoever and we were pissed at Romney for lying through his teeth and interrupting constantly. Mostly, though, we were pissed at Obama for letting it happen..

Conservatives thought it was awesome.

After the VP debate in which Joe Biden dominated Paul Ryan, liberals were pleased that, finally, someone was treating Ryan the way he deserves to be treated: with derision, as opposed to the fawning obsequiousness he usually receives from the media. Ryan was obviously not prepared (or able) to stand against an elder statesman.

Conservatives were outraged that Biden kept interrupting Ryan. Ryan was the victim.

Now, we have the third debate and Obama crushed Romney. The moderator, Candy Crowley, kept control of the event. Obama was fully engaged and on message. Romney shot himself in the foot several times and came off as petulant.

Conservatives are outraged at Crowley and Romney is the victim.

See a pattern here? The party of personal responsibility is incapable of actually taking responsibility. It’s always someone else’s fault.

Obama has this to say last night, “I’m the president and I’m always responsible.”

Too bad Republicans don’t practice what they preach; the world would be a better place if they did.
