Seriously, are they ever going to take the diapers off and grow up? If you don’t know who David Frum is, he was one of the conservative intellectuals that was fired from his think tank job for daring to maintain his integrity and not toe the party line. Frum still pushes conservative ideology, he’s just not a rabid lunatic and regularly bashes the right for being insane. Because of that, this sort of thing happens:
From the Daily Beast:
Editor’s note: apologies on the small images. I found it very difficult to zoom them in without pretty rough pixelation (those screen shots don’t like to cooperate.) Here’s the text for those of you (like me) who find these tough to read:
Commenter:
I was planning to download this on Kindle but got to browse a copy at a local physical store. My kids write better than this: it’s a horrid read. Very disappointing. Stiff cliched characters, unreal situations, and a bit too much autobiography. Buy something entertaining instead.
David’s response:
Since the book is unavailable in bookstores, this comment is pretty obviously a work of pure imagination. The backstory is more interesting than the comment. After I criticized a recent Michelle Malkin column on my Daily Beast blog, her admirers have decided to ventilate their rage against a book they haven’t read. (See the three immediately preceding reviews and – no doubt – the next half dozen. On the other hand, in fairness to them, if they had read the book, they’d no doubt be madder still. – David Frum
Instead of defending Malkin on the merits of whatever her argument was, her conservative minions went for lies instead. Thinking is hard so why bother? This is not an isolated incident. If you’ll recall, conservative groups like to suppress dissenting opinion by less than legitimate means. And people wonder why the country is so divided. Half of it is fully committed to winning through cheating and lying. How do you reason with people so lacking in ethics and integrity?

I probably wouldn’t have, because I hadn’t heard of it, but I’m definitely going to buy the book now. Thanks Republicans!
