In February, Clint Eastwood starred in a Super Bowl commercial that sounded positively socialist despite his being a Republican. He touted the revival of the American car industry which, despite Mitt Romney’s attempt to claim credit, was “blamed” on Obama and regularly attacked as a “government takeover.” Conservatives were stunned that such a revered right wing figure (despite not being particularly outspoken) would support an Obama accomplishment even though he did not specifically credit Obama.

Then there was this, which made the rounds afterwards (even though it predated the commercial):

Good Lord, man! You’ve denounced almost the entire GOP platform! What are you? Some kind of LIBERAL?!

Well, he tried to make it up to the GOP last night…by talking to an empty chair and pretending it was Obama. He rambled, lost his train of thought and generally came off looking a bit senile.

Honestly? As far as I’m concerned, this was just a taste of what’s in store for Romney in the debates. Clint Eastwood lost an argument to an empty chair. How much worse will it be when Obama is actually standing there and Romney tries to trot out his bag of lies?
