Catholic Church Starting To Figure Out GOP Is NOT ‘Pro-Life’

Most conservatives that like to call liberals “baby killers” don’t give a damn about the fetus beyond “don’t abort it!” If they did, they would not only support free prenatal care, financial and material support for pregnant women, food stamps and free medical for children, etc. they would absolutely DEMAND it. Of course, they don’t, because their “compassion” extends only as far as their wallet. Catholics have started to say this inconvenient truth about conservative out loud:

Republicans claim to oppose abortion and then they do everything in their power to make sure there are more of them. Why? Because it serves their purpose as a wedge issue, nothing more.
Once again nuns give much needed head slap to bishops.

Abortion, “religious freedom”, contraceptives, public assistance (I refuse to call it “welfare”), Medicare, SS, etc.
All they are to Republicans are wedge issues. They care about nothing but attaining and maintaining power for themselves and their corporate owners at the expense of the rest of us.
Keep the peons arguing amongst themselves while they rape and pillage our bank accounts, our homes and our land.
AZindependent- I think we shouldn’t shy away from using the word welfare. It actually means, “anything the government does to help its citizens. Public education is welfare. But, the masses are stupid and think all welfare is bad, so you have a point…

If more people would actually make informed decisions when they vote rather than rely on the biased voice of ignorance, I believe more religious sects would see the actual truth. That a Catholic publication was able to open it’s eyes and see the whole issue is a good start.
The plain truth is, the GOP candidates are pro-money, for themselves. The pro-life argument is a scam to scare narrow minded people who view getting pregnant as a punishment women get for having sex into voting for them! These so-called pro-lifers are no such thing. They don’t care about the unborn any more than McDonald’s cares about the well being of a potato. They view a woman having sex as a harlot and evil and feel she should be punished with pregnancy and an unwanted child she cannot afford to raise.
