At least according to the standards of the GOP. After all, Obama went from school to community organizer and into government. That was an awful horrible terrible lack of “real world experience” that made him unfit for higher office.
Paul Ryan spent some time driving the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile before going straight into government. I’m not knocking the weiner (hur hur hur) but do you think anyone on the right will remember that not having a “real” job used to be a deal breaker? No? Are you surprised?
Preparation to be Vice President of Condiments?

I just can’t comprehend this VP pick from any logical standpoint. Willard Romney is a heartless vulture with no specific plan for the country other than “I’m not Obama.” Then he picks a heartless fool for a running mate who will have seniors rushing into the Obama column faster than a $2 dinner special at IHOP.
And as usual, the righties will ignore their own hypocrisy. It’s a lot like Ryan saying “Yeah, I used SS from my father’s death to pay my way through school, but that’s different. SS is bad now!” I can already hear the comments of “Yeah, but this is different!”. Someone explain to me how driving the Weinermobile is greater than community organizer and helping the poor.
I’ve read that he also worked at McDonald’s on the grill, not the front counter, because his bass didn’t think he was socially inclined.
Not fair to belittle the Weinermeisters. I worked for years at a Chicago mobile marketing firm that hired numerous former “Weinermeisters” because they were experienced marketers, good drivers, and willing to work very hard; frequently seven days a week when on the road. When their stint was done, many of them were hired as coordinators and managers to run the programs because they understood the intricacies and difficulties of the job. Many are still working there and some have progressed to executive positions. I don’t care a twit about Ryan, you’ve been very unfair to these hardworking young people.
OK, so it WAS a real job. I’ll give him that. Doesn’t do much for foreign policy experience, though (unless he drove into Canada in the thing).
