The horror! The horror! Paying employees to stay home when they’re sick?!
It’s stealing from employers! Black Lazy people will abuse it! It’s an attack on Christianity! Really, though, it’s just Big Business throwing a hissy fit in Orange County, Florida as the residents try to place an initiative on the ballot that would force any business with more than 15 employees to adopt paid sick time. Big Business is trying to block the initiative from even being allowed to gather signatures. Their reasoning is that the language makes it unclear that charities and churches would be included under the new law and is thus misleading the public. Yes, Big Business is “defending” the people from being “fooled” by the mean ol’ liberals.

Yes, big business thinks the public is SO much happier having sick employees spread germs at work.
In Milwaukee, a few years ago we passed a referrendum requiring paid sick days by alot but ofcourse the repubs didnt do a thing about it
