Today’s Top Secret award is given to Rep. Steve King (R-IA) for the following: “One of the great things about America is we’ve been unified by a common language. That common language, of course, is English.”
Right now, Mitt Romney is trailing President Obama by 48 points among the Latino community. Latinos, in general, tend to be socially conservative but they are abandoning the GOP is droves as, instead of paying attention to their potential future base, Republicans have doubled down on appeasing their current, racist, aging and rapidly shrinking base. How? By bashing Latinos with some of the most overtly racist rhetoric and legislation seen in a generation..
No sane person would take this approach to politics. Yet, Rep. King is making national headlines for his over-the-top nativism. Obviously, he’s secretly working for the Democratic Party to make the GOP look like a bunch of out-of-touch bigots.
