Douchebag Of The Day: Kelly Keisling, Moronic Fear-Monger

Awarded to Tennessee state Representative Kelly Keisling for sending out an email to his constituents, from his official state email account, detailing a conspiracy theory that President Obama and DHS were going to stage a fake assassination attempt and other events in order to declare martial law and postpone the election.
Not only are these rumors conveniently unprovable but they serve no purpose other than to scare people who are already living in a bubble of paranoia and ignorance. Oh, I forgot mention what party Keisling is affiliated with. But I don’t really have to, do I?
It’s garbage like this that sets borderline people off. For example, Glenn Beck’s Tide Foundation would be assassin and the numerous other killers that thought Obama was coming to get them because someone in authority told them it just might happen ANY MINUTE NOW!
So keep whipping your mindless followers into a terrified frenzy, Keisling. It’s not like you’ll take any personal responsibility when one of them snaps anyway. In the meantime, Congratulations! You’re a douchebag!

This sounds pretty close to treason to me. A government official blatantly lied about another government official, and if that lie were true it would affect the entire nation and the process of democratic elections. Isn’t that some kind of treason? Also, if it’s on the internet is it libel or slander?

This is showing how much of a media circus the republicans want to run, if anything the party as a whole is filled with traitors to the US who would do anything to sabotage the election and destroy the democratic process. Honestly the people need to wake up and smell the bullshit, as these events will inevitably break all trust the people have with the government and create a state of the people versus their representantives.
I don’t think this is a Republican thing. That party has split into two; the regular, non-crazy Republicans, and the Teabaggers, who prove their insanity whenever they say anything. The regular Republicans by now are slowly inching toward the door, pretending they don’t know the Teabaggers. That movement really brought shame to a party that, lest we forget, used to be the liberal party. I may not be a Republican, but at least some of the regular ones have in the past been willing to work together with the more liberal politicians to help the country. Teabaggers aren’t Republicans anymore, they’re freaking space aliens.
It is sad I heard this on The Last Word With Lawrence O’Donnell not CNN or my local News!!!! This idiot along with Bachman and King and all the Tea Bag clan need to be forced to resign…..Clinton was impeached for less. Holder was called in doing his freakin job!
