Anthony Weiner you degenerates!
The New York Times reports:
He has roughly $4.5 million in the bank for a political candidacy and a deadline to use it next year or miss out on getting up to $1.5 million in public matching funds.
He wants to return to politics, according to friends and former staff members.
And, as much as he might desire to run for office, he faces a major challenge in overcoming the scandal over his lewd online behavior that spurred him to resign his House seat last year.
Beyond that, there are mostly questions, the biggest of them being when Mr. Weiner may attempt a comeback. On Sunday, he declined to comment when asked directly about his immediate political ambitions.
An article in The New York Post, taking note of expenditures reported in a recent campaign filing and his deadline for receiving matching funds, suggested that Mr. Weiner was considering running for public advocate or even mayor next year.
That’s assuming King Bloomberg doesn’t change the law again to make himself Mayor For Life. Barring that, I would be thrilled for Weiner to get back into politics. His was a truly progressive voice that didn’t hesitate to shame and berate both hypocritical Republicans and spineless Democrats. If the man had some issues in his personal life, so what? If they don’t impact his ability to be a public servant then that is between him and his wife.
Just to make it clear for the odd person that will complain that liberals always give a pass to Democrats but rake Republicans that stray over the coals, let me remind you of what you already know so very well: liberals do not advertise their “superior morality” as a reason to elect them; conservatives do that. Always. They tout their religion and their piety and their “family values” like it is the most important part of their candidacy. Of COURSE we nail them to the wall when they’re found with a hooker or sleeping with their best friend’s wife. They told us to do it by elevating themselves on a pedestal. Don’t blame us for holding them to the standards they demand to be held to. If they didn’t do this, then their private life is just that, private.
Anthony Weiner’s strength as a progressive is more important than his personal failings as a husband.

I agree completely!
Can I want it both ways?
I really hope he DOES come back to politics! He’s a great advocate for the people and what he did was a huge mistake on his part but had NOTHING to do with the public! He’d get my vote for sure!
If I lived in New York he would have my vote, hands down. What he did was a private issue and so what.
