It’s not even August yet and Romney has abandoned the (not so) subtle insinuation that President Obama is a “foreigner.” That’s great! Or at least it would be if Mittens’ campaign advisors hadn’t decided to go for the blatant accusation that Obama doesn’t understand what it means to be “Anglo-Saxon.”

Hmmm…Anglo-Saxon? As in “White Anglo-Saxon Protestant?”
Now, for all you conservatives that are about to whine that I’m overreacting or “why do you liberals always have to play the race card?” may I remind you that conservatives have taken great pains to demonize liberals for “wanting to be European socialists” or turning America into a “European style dictatorship?” Now we’re supposed to believe that Mitt Romney is suddenly embracing our shared history with Europe?
Riiiiiight…makes total sense.

OK, wait a minute…didn’t mittens just have his son produce a Spanish language ad proclaiming how “latino” his family is? And didn’t he go all “hispanic” talking about how his “padre” was born in Mexico? Ok then, just as we thought… Mittens is whatever he thinks his audience wants to hear.
