There’s a picture making the rounds today that purports to show that almost all the ice in Greenland melted in JUST FOUR DAYS! Here it is:
Sigh…it’s crap like this that gives the idiots on the right ammunition against actual science. What that picture is showing is that all of the ice has some level of melting occurring, not that all the ice disappeared. “Some level of melting” could mean as little as two inches melting on top of ten feet of ice. It’s significant because it’s so widespread but not unheard of. Scientists are saying that it’s even cyclical but if it continues next year and the year after that and so on then it’s a problem that can be easily traced back to Climate Change.
Think about it, for that much ice to melt in four days would require temperatures that would roast a human where they stand. It’s just not possible.
Yeah, I’ve seen this happening today. Dire calls to curb CO2 emissions, like it was brand new. It some respects, it’s good that someone got point, but we can’t float shit to fight shit. And that’s a big problem. I occassionally see shit as biased as fox news would do coming from our side, and it simply must be shot down immediately or else we will be sucked into the same vortex of hate that the republican media elite have sucked their poor constituents into. It’s not about alarmist shit, it’s about ok… we have a problem what’s the best way to fix this? Don’t call me a doodyhead for saying we have a problem… etc. The Koch fuckers were so elemental in attacking every layer of the solution with money and heresay, you must give them credit for birthing our ignorati.
Yes but a huge chunk of ice did break off Greenland recently. Basically within a few years, about 135 square miles of ice have broken off
