Even as the police have upped the death count to 14, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Asshole) insisted that the shootings were the result of not enough religion in schools and part of a pattern of attacks on Christianity.
Gohmert stated in an interview on right wing radio show, “Istook Live!” that,
“You know what really gets me, as a Christian, is to see the ongoing attacks on Judeo-Christian beliefs, and then some senseless crazy act of a derelict takes place.”
Then Gohmert went further to blame secularism:
“People say … where was God in all of this?” Gohmert said. “We’ve threatened high school graduation participations, if they use God’s name, they’re going to be jailed … I mean that kind of stuff. Where was God? What have we done with God? We don’t want him around. I kind of like his protective hand being present.”

This incident has far more to do with extremely lax gun ownership and concealed carry laws and not a damn thing to do with attacks on religion.Every nut job drooling half wit that can sign his name and has a fairly clean record can get a gun and then he can carry it any place he wants and “stand his ground” if he feels “threatened”.
