The Supreme Court broke 5-4 in favor of the ACA in toto! The mandate was upheld as a tax. Chief Justice Roberts went left and Obama reaps a massive win. Prepare for the spin from Fox and a whole lot of bile about how this is the end of America. Giving corporations unlimited influence over our elections is “democracy” but non-socialized healthcare is a “disaster.”
You know who’s breathing a huge sigh of relief? Insurance companies. Overturning the mandate would have cost them billions.
By the way, the Commerce Clause is still intact and the GOP will be clutching its pearls. This was the closest they’ve gotten to destroying the government’s power to do big things. Tough luck!
