Official Moron Of The Day 3/10/2012: Senator James Inhofe

As an atheist, I tend not to disparage people’s beliefs just for fun. You can hold whatever private beliefs that you want. As long as you keep it out of my life, I really don’t care what mythology you follow. However! When you put your faith ahead of logic, reason, science, morality and just simple human decency, you are a target looking for a heat seeking missile. And I’m just the filthy liberal scum to press the big shiny red button!
Today’s award recipient is Senator James Inhofe (R-Fucking Idiot). Infamous for his climate change denial, Sen. Inhofe has stepped up his game. Instead of just claiming it all to be a hoax that he can’t seem to disprove, Sen. Inhofe has said, out loud, in public, that “The arrogance of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what He is doing in the climate is to me outrageous.”
Ah, to be so stunningly and willfully ignorant! To the people that surrender all of their ability to think and learn to the “knowledge” contained in the Bible: Shut up. Stop talking. Go away. You are a blight on the world. If it were up to you we would still be using leeches to cure cancer and burning witches at the stake. Why? Because the Bible contains no scientific information. The world is not flat, Eve did not come from Adam’s rib and God is not controlling the fucking climate!!! While there is a specific provision in the Constitution that prohibits a religious test to attain office, there is nothing prohibiting a test for fanaticism or just general stupidity. You, Sen. Inhofe, are unworthy of your position.
For putting your uniformed faith ahead of actual science, Congratulations, Sen. Inhofe! You’re an official moron!!

With so many “people”, i.e. Republicans, going the way of stating belief as fact and wishes as reality, it’s getting harder and harder to take any of it seriously, or as a real threat…HOWEVER, there are an equal number of whackos who can find their way to a voting center, and this scares the crap out of me. Bush…..elected…>TWICE< need I say more?
Congress – especially the House, and a shit load of state houses and state legislatures are filled nearly to the brim with such fucking idiots. It galls my ass that such people are elevated to positions of power – and privilege, I might add – via public elections. That such people make the laws which all of us are expected to accept under pain of fine, imprisonment or, I don’t know, the fucking stockade(?) adds insult to the injury.
The inability of alleged Christians to ignore God’s gift of a brain always astounds me.
